Pregnancy Yoga

Mix of online and in-person classes (Different indoor venues are opening at different times, some sooner than others. I’ll update on here regularly. The first in-person class to resume will be pregnancy yoga in Christchurch on Mondays starting 10th August.)

Step out of your busy everyday life into the deeply nurturing and peaceful space I create for you to connect with your pregnancy and unborn baby. Stretch and strengthen your body; improve balance in the pelvis to help with optimal foetal positioning; develop awareness of your breath to help you in labour and for general well-being; release tension; relieve aches and pains of pregnancy; relax and make lasting friendships.

Each session starts with a chat where there is the chance to ask questions and get informed about birth. Then comes relaxation, breathing and connecting with your baby. This leads into the movement part of the class helping you make space in your body and relieve some aches and pains. Most weeks there are practice positions and breathing for labour, this is supportive for all births including caesareans as the breathing is so calming. We then finish with a delicious relaxation so you leave the class feeling blissed out.

While classes are online I am keeping them as close as possible to a regular class. One of the advantages is that you can turn up in pajamas so you’re ready for bed afterwards! As you’re not limited by location you can choose whichever time suits you best.

If you have a birth / yoga ball at home you’re welcome to use this during the class.

Suitable from the 14th week of pregnancy to full term. For all abilities including complete beginners to yoga.

Mondays 5.30 to 6.45 pm Pregnancy Yoga & Relaxation in Christchurch restarting 10th August. Class size is limited to 6 to allow for social distancing.

Tuesdays 6.15 to 7.30pm (Normally held in Ringwood)

Thursdays 7.15 to 8.30pm (Normally held in Bournemouth / Charminster)

Christchurch classes cost £40 for a 4 week block or £12 pay as you go from 36 weeks (subject to availability). Payment terms are different to below and will be sent out when you contact me about the class along with the covid-19 safe details.

Online classes cost £24 for a 4 week block or £7.50 pay as you go (subject to availability).

You’re welcome to try a pay as you go class before booking a block of 4. After the 36th week of pregnancy classes are pay as you go. For block bookings one class per 4 week block can be carried over if 24 hours cancellation notice is given. For late notice cancellations the class won’t be carried over but you can attend a different class that week if there is space.

While our lives are facing so much disruption in these unprecedented times I’m trying to be as accommodating as possible. If you’re experiencing financial difficulty don’t let that stop you from joining an online class, please get in touch. Once booked, sessions are non-refundable except in the unusual event that I have to cancel.

You are entitled to paid time off work for antenatal and relaxation classes (which includes yoga) – some employers will require a letter from your doctor though.

Please contact me for further information and to book your place.

One-to-one sessions are also available if none of the days and times above are suitable or if you would prefer a private class. £30 an hour.

“If you’re thinking of pregnancy yoga with Rosa, DO IT! It was probably the best decision I made in pregnancy.
I recently gave birth to my second child and had a wonderful birth experience, all thanks to the techniques from the yoga classes.
I always wanted to experience as natural a birth as possible, my first experience I didn’t cope well with the contractions and ended up having drugs, epidural and forcep delivery. This time round I did it with just gas and air , and the breathing techniques I had been taught in class.
It was a lovely birth, one I had desperately wanted to have and I am very grateful to Rosa for helping me achieve that.
In the class I learned to control my breathing, find what positions would help me personally and to really focus on that goal of giving birth without the need for drugs.
I really enjoyed each class, met some other lovely mums and was able to relax listening to Rosa’s very soothing voice.
I would highly recommend any mum to be to attend pregnancy yoga, whether it be your first, second or third baby.
Every birth is different, but you will learn so much which will be such a help in labour. I am SO glad I did it. Thank you so much Rosa for your support and for helping me achieve exactly what I wanted to do.” – Emma
